Tanzania, Africa

Howdy, folks! I recently was able to go on a mission trip to Tanzania, Africa for a two week mission trip! My momma went with me, which was pretty awesome. =) We went with a wonderful team. The leader of our group grew up in Tanzania, and visits it several times a year, and brings a group with him one of those times. I've had a heart to go to Africa for years now, and was so blessed that the Lord provided a way for me to go. I LOVED the people and taking pictures of them. I wish I could've taken more! I already know I wanna go back. It was a humbling trip for sure. God was so good to provide for everyone.
This is one of the rooms we stayed in.

These guys saw me walking by with my camera, and wanted me to take their picture, haha.
Lots and lots of water bottles, since we couldn't drink or use their water.
The church that we went to on Sunday's.

We went to this amazing hotel for tea one day! It was an amazing building, and had a great view.

Mark and his dad, some of the team.

I got to hold this adorable smiley baby a lot! So wanted to take her home with me :D

Some more of my little buddies. They all called me either my name, Americani, or Mzungu, which means white person :)

Mark and I went to some high schools to share a gospel message and tell them about American life, and answer any questions. This one was one of the all boys highschool...lil awkward.
Ken, another guy on the team, sometimes came with us. Some of the guys wanted pictures with us, so this one below is one Mark got on his phone.
They were raising up some fish (the name escapes my memory at this time...) outside of the school. It was really cool to learn about what all it took to take care of them, and when they needed to be old off.
This is the biggest, fanciest church in Tanzania.

We went to an orphanage, where I told a Bible story, then we played with the kids some. They were really sweet!

This was another church we went to, to go encourage, and went out to the village to share the gospel with people in their homes, and invite them to come back to church. It went really well!
The women were simply amazing. They were out in the heat busting their tales to make us and others food! And they did t with such joy.

This is the pastor and his wife.

We went to the beach or tea one Sunday afternoon.
This is some of our translators =)

Got me some fresh avocado juice.

Mom and me with our amazing translators. Wonderful people of God.
On a ferry we had to get onto to get to Mwanza where we'd go on our safari.

Mom and me at the opening gate of the Serengeti - for our safari adventures to begin!

In the safari truck, there was this animal manual that had all the different types of animals in it. Mark, Wayne and me quickly flipped through it when we saw a new animal that we weren't familiar with.

 Stop for a lunch break.

            Father-son love. =)

The equator was amazing, y'all. God's creation is simply amazing.

We stayed the night in two different lodges on our three-day safari. They had great views, and were fancy!

Our team minus two. Standing: Mark, me, Mom, Pam, Becky, Ken, kneeling: Wayne (Mark's dad), Ken, Michel, Leslie, and Scott, our leader. I was so thankful for this awesome team! It was a great journey to go on with them all.

  1. I feel so moved by these pictures and your short (i guess i can say) testimony. I wish I could really go all the way down there and maybe even live there for a while.

    1. Thank you! It is amazing there. Very different from what we're used to in America. I hope you can go there! I'm so thankful I got to go, ad pray I get to go again!
